It won’t be long before soldiers will be outfitted with iPod laden body armor. Without his trusty iPod this soldier would have taken an AK-47 bullet in the chest. It’ll only be a matter of a few days now before we see fund raisers to send life saving iPods over to Iraq.
It all makes sense now… That U2 iPod was a bulls eye!
This wasn’t the first time an Apple product saved someones life. Check out this MacBook Pro that got shot during a mugging in Brazil
Thanks to Scott over at BabyGotMac.com for finding the pic. If only all the other soldiers in Iraq could be as lucky as this guy.

I saw the other photos. The soldier probably fragged his iPod because the screen was scratched. ;-)
I can see it now.
“Ahhh… My iPod screen busted again.”
“Quit your complaining private! Give me that techno hunk-o-junk!”
…..BANG…..
The case of the holy iPod.. err holey.. I guess that shoots down Zunes as protective devices.. They’re all plastic (read: cheap $h! )
you never hear these types of stories about pc’s.
i sooo love my mac.
Comment 2: It never pays to skimp on iPod models because a Shuffle a day won’t keep stray bullets away!!
^^^^
LOL Matt,
Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t want to rely on a Shuffle to keep me alive or an iPod for that matter.

Nice link Dave.
That explains the whole situation with the shot iPod. I can’t believe that the soldier didn’t know that he was shot. I guess I watch to much TV or something, but I always picture people falling on the ground and getting big ol’ bruises from their body armor. Maybe that’s just the cheap flack jackets that cops wear or something, who knows. At least he’s still alive and got and got a new iPod out of the ordeal.
