I was hoping to wake up today and find some really cool Apple April Fools jokes. But unfortunately that didn’t happen. I figured iPhone/AppleTV spin offs would be a dime a dozen. I waited all day to write this in hope that someone would post something late in the day to throw everyone off. But no luck :( It’s sort of like when you’re kid and you wake up Christmas morning and find that you received none of the gifts that you really wanted. Maybe I expect to much out of this quasi holiday. Even with the slight disappointment I think its one of my favorite holidays. It’s one of the few holidays that Hallmark has yet to take it over and guilt us into buying gifts for people…
Anyways, I was able to find a few cool pranks/hoaxes that you might enjoy.
As always ThinkGeek had some neat stuff. I especially like the WiiHelm. “Your head now controls your movements, your feet controls the buttons (with the included foot pedals), and your hands are free to hold your drink and chips.” Simply awesome! Just what every gamer has always wanted, a way to down junk food while vegging out.
Google released GMail Paper, a parody of their own GMail service. “Now that I have Gmail Paper, I understand the difference between labels and folders. I had one message with two labels, but when I tried to stick the paper version into two filing cabinets at the same time, it just wouldn’t go.” Google always has a good sense of humor. They even poke fun at the targeted ads in GMail. Google posted another amusing hoax about its new FREE broadband service, TiSP. You’ll have to read this one on your own, because I don’t want to spoil it.
Oh, and the ol’ unresponsive computer prank is always fun :)
Those were just some of my favorites of the day. I’m still bummed that I didn’t read any really cool Apple pranks/hoaxes. If anyone ran across anything really cool let me know! The internet is a big place and as hard as I try, I can’t find all the fun stuff ;p

The SnuzNLuz from ThinkGeek was my favorite.
I got a kick out of that one as well.
What I find really funny is that I bet there are people who would actually use the ‘Vilcus Plug Dactyloadapter’.
