I'm going to have an update on this coming soon. But in short, she got her black MacBook and things are going good :)

Grats on your convert(s) as well. Just think of how much extra time you'll have from not having to help your Mom anymore!

I think I'm nearly ready to do the switch.. all I need to do is figure out whether Parallels will let me use Napster and Visual C# 2005 Express. Then I'm down to the Apple store with the best of them :D

I've read about a lot of Windows developers using Parallels/Bootcamp to do their coding and then OS X for their every day lives. I would imagine that most of the work they do is with .NET, which must obviously work with Parallels. So I imagine that Visual C# would work as well. Every application that I've ever tried in Parallels has worked. I don't know why Napster would be any different.

Good luck with the switch! If you ever need any help remember that the Mac community is great. If you have and problems or need help feel free to ask just about anyone even me :) I'll take the time to help you with anything I can.

Thanks Nick.. that's really good of you.

I think you're spot on with the thing you said about the Mac community. I've had nothing but smiles and good intentions despite my almost constant worrying and questioning.

3 weeks and the Mac will be mine. I'll no doubt bug you more then!

I've had 0 complaints about the Mac community. Its a polar opposite of the negativity in the Windows community. Its a nice change.

Oh, and I got a kick out of your University Education video. I have boxes and boxes full of Computer Science books. I guess that I should have sold them back to the book store, but that always made me feel like I was getting ripped off.

I couldn't get rid of mine even if I was desperate for cash. Not only are they full of scribble, but I feel kinda attached to them. That said, "Antes que anochezca" is quite possibly one of the most boring books I have ever read (I think its in that video).

Its proof that you actually went to college. Nobody can ever say that you printed your diploma off the internet if you have a stack of books 4 feet high :)
