I don't know of any, but I'd be thrilled to experiment with one on SwitchBlog.com

...And link to any existing communities.

It seems like switching involves joining the greater Mac community which is full of great people who are happy to help. Perhaps a community dedicated to switchers would provide a centralized location to ask questions and have them answered.

As described in the post I joined some of the biggest mac communities that I found. However, I don't know if these communities get tired of the typical OS X newbie questions or not. A switcher community would be nice since everyone could learn together. And since everyone would be in the same situation they would all likely have the same questions.

dude, you have so made the right choice.
i am not sure if there is a site for "switchers," but i recently joined my local Mac Users Group though i switched roughly 2 years ago.
that being said the user group is full of great people and great resources.
people are very nice and very helpful.
please let me know if there is anything that i can do to help.
i had to go through this littany of programs before i found a nice mix of things that i like, and also before i would fork over my hard earned money to pay for anything.
oh, and you can email me at: jeffdvance@gmail.com

I was in the Lunix Users Group at my college, although I was a pretty inactive member. I'll looked at to see if there was a MUG (Mac Users Group) in my area and there wasn't :(

If anyone else wants to check if there is one near them go to http://www.apple.com/usergroups/find/ and you can search by state or zipcode!

I ran across the I/O MUG (Internet Only). It seems like a good alternative to for those who can't join a local MUG.

I did a search by state and saw some in my area, but not really close enough to justify driving there. Maybe I'll join anyways so I can join their forums, receive their newsletter and subscribe to their email list.

Oh, and the URL for the I/O (internet only) MUG is http://www.iomug.org.
